LILITHA STARTS EXAMS

Lilitha and Christian have become firm friends. Today they were found studying the Grade 6 Mathematics Examination Paper while the children wrote the exam.

Lilitha then sat the exam with Cameron.

Lilitha visits Grade R

Our Grade R children were delighted when Lilitha arrived. They drew pictures of rhinos for her on 'Paint' in their computer classes and posed with her and our school rhino, Christian.

ROOTING FOR RHINOS

Rooting for Rhinos is the organisation which put out the School Route Challenge. In conjunction with the Travelling Rhinos we chose to support them by creating a human rhino to raise funds for rhino conservation. You can see their beneficiaries who will be receiving the R1780 we raised at NWCS. Here is our rhino which Mr Blackstock risked his life to photograph.

Introduction

Welcome to our Rhino page. Here at Northwest Christian School we have been finding out about the plight of the rhino. There are less than 20 000 rhinos left in the world. Most of them are in South Africa. They are being poached at an alarming rate and are in serious danger of extinction.

We have invited one of the Travelling Rhino's from the Travelling Rhino Project (http://saveourrhinos.wikispaces.com/HOME) to come and spend two weeks with our school. During this time we will be doing projects to raise awareness of the impending extinction of rhinos. The name of the rhino who will be visiting us is Lilitha, which means "Our Sunshine" in Xhosa..
